GET UP!
The first two words in our mission statement. Two easy simple words. But why does it feel so difficult to do sometimes? Throughout our personal journeys in fitness and training for us, it always seemed to boil down to expectations.
The first step in adopting a fitness regime in your life is an assessment of your overall health and physical fitness level. We have created a client login account to help you get started and input your baseline health information. Always consult with your primary healthcare provider before engaging in physical activity you may not be used to doing. If you would like a consultation and evaluation from our staff of licensed medical professionals we are always here to assist. It is very important to establish your current health level. Not only does this set what type of exercise program would work best for you but also track the changes in your health as you progress through your lifelong journey. For keeping track of your progression feel free to use our fitness and nutrition tracker to help monitor your performance. We understand that privacy is important and you are also welcome to download the form here for your own use.
ONE STEP AT A TIME.
What is the first step in improving my health?
We get this question very often. And we can wholeheartedly recommend doing something that you love that keeps you active. Take a minute and think about your hobbies and interests. Is there something that you used to enjoy but haven’t made the time for recently? Maybe it’s been years. Anything that burns calories and makes you feel better physically and mentally is always worth doing or restarting. It’s been scientifically proven that even casual walking will improve your overall well-being. Walking isn't the only hobby that is healthy. Dancing, cooking, volunteering, gardening, music, traveling, reading, and writing are all health-positive activities.
But what if I like working out?
For some reason, there seems to be a stigma attached to going to the gym. If working out is something that you enjoy then do it. There’s nothing wrong with feeling good about losing weight, or maybe putting on some muscle, and just feeling those endorphins flowing. We definitely encourage our clients to do what feels best for them and their lifestyle choices. There is no wrong or right way when it comes to being fit. As long as it’s done in a balanced way and doesn't turn into obsessive behavior. With that in mind if you would like a personalized workout plan we would be happy to assist with your goals in mind.
QUALITY TIME.
Many people will think that this refers to performing an exercise routine with impeccable form. That no action should be wasted and each movement should bring us physical perfection. While this is important to keep from hurting ourselves during physical activity, this isn’t what we are referring to. Quality time is the reward for respecting ourselves and our health. As advances in medicine and nutrition have increased human life expectancy so has our need to have a fit mind and body far longer than our predecessors. If we abuse our bodies we will suffer the consequences of having a poor quality of life. There is nothing better than knowing that our diligence to a healthy lifestyle has given us vitality and vigor in our later years of life.
